Real life vs. computer

Sad reality for too many kids today … Good news is: It’s up to us as parents to decide how our kids spend their time and which devices they get and use. And yes, you can still raise kids without video/computer games and also without texting, without mobile phones (up to the age of 16 years kids do not need any smartphones).
Make sure that your child lives a life in real life.

It’s time to act on Climate Change!

„It’s time for [..] the world to act on Climate Change! “ Now, that’s a surprise to hear from a US president – honestly I did not expect this anymore.
BTW: This means each of us. You need ideas?
1. Check and change your electricity provider to 100% energy from renewable resources.
2. Sell your regular car and a) walk, b) take the bike, c) use public transport, d) use car-sharing, or e) buy your own electric car (or have your regular exhaust car remodeled to a 100% electric car).
3. Refuse & Reduce & Reuse & Recycle 
4. Buy local food, organic food, without packaging

Strassenverkehr und Klischees

Heute zum TÜV gefahren.

Dabei zwei Dinge (wieder mal) festgestellt:

1. In München mit dem Auto unterwegs zu sein ist bescheuert, weil man mehr steht als fährt. Wie schön ist es doch mit dem Fahrrad, wo man einfach und schnell nahezu überall durchfahren darf und dabei auch noch fit wird bzw. bleibt!

2. Klischees stimmen oft nicht: Stau, auf der Spur neben mir schiebt sich ein BMW-Cabrio heran. Zwei… junge Männer Ende Zwanzig mit „Migrationshintergrund“. Fahrer gibt mir Zeichen, ich mache die Beifahrerscheibe runter. Ausgesprochen freundlich fragt er dann nach PS vom Roadster und ist sehr beeindruckt, dass es ein Elektroauto ist, findet das Auto schick. 5 min später, andere Straße – eine ganz andere Episode: rechte Spur ist blockiert, vor mir ordnen sich die Autos auf die linke Spur ein. Also, wir alle sind nett: Reißverschluss- Verfahren: Autofahrer vor mir lässt ein Auto von rechts vor sich, ich lasse ein Auto rein, fahre hinterher. Da braust von rechts noch ein Auto heran. Geschäftsmann um die 50 im Anzug grinst schleimig zu mir und kräht mir jovial zu “ Schatzi! Lässt du mich rein?“ 

Der Geschäftsmann meckert rum, hat aber trotz seines nagelneuen Oberklasse Mercedes keine Chance, sich vor mich zu drängeln. Woher kriegen solche Deppen das Geld bzw. den Job für solche teuren Autos?!
Merke: Der Ton macht die Musik. Und als Schatzi und per du ansprechen lass ich mich schonmal gleich gar nicht – glauben solche Typen echt, dass sie im Leben so weiterkommen?

PS: True for all people, no matter how old they are, I think. And no matter where they live, in China or in Munich.
Personally I find it extremely sad to see more and more kids in restaurants in Munich, kept quiet with iPhones, not interacting with their parents anymore. Going to a restaurant with kids may be stressful in the beginning, but it’s a social experience and also eduation for life. And kids will learn (how) to behave at the dinner table and/or among other people.

You think it’s ridiculous to have such dirty devices around you? Sure! But why do we all silently accept that our inner cities are flooded with cars which pollute the air? Our air and the air of our kids and future generations.

Sorry! – We destroyed our planet and your future …. or maybe we can still change the world?!

Yes, I think at some point our children and future generations will hate us for a couple of things we did – and for a lot of things we didn’t do.
Honestly, I do not want to just say „Sorry“ to my kids and grand-children in 20, 30 years. Let’s start to change things, think about our consumption, do not waste resources, talk about environmental issues with your family, friends, relatives, and colleagues.
